In the early 20th century, Gelasio Caetani renovated the large hall on the first floor of the Maschio Tower, converting it into the Duke’s bedroom. The room became the lord’s private space and preserves most of the 16th-century furnishings. Located on the first floor of the tower, it was completely isolated thanks to two drawbridges, which ensured privacy and security. It is among the most intimate and meaningful rooms of the castle. While primarily a place of rest, it also served as a space of representation, where furnishings and decoration reflected the rank and taste of the castle’s owner.
